This Takefu International Music Festival is held by devoted musicians and by many volunteers for those people who love music and are able to accept music as it should be. From all over the world many outstanding musicians gather at Takefu. Festival International emsemble and Takefu trio are truly outstanding groups of musicians, who will perform two concert during the Festival in accordance with the theme, "Hommage Debussy". "Hommage Debussy" is one of our festival projects, linking with the theme of festival in both Canada and Holland. This is the music festival that present, including six debut pieces only for Takefu, a series of concert wich aim at recognizing how future Japanese music should harmonize with music of the world. Approaching the 21st century, we are contemplating how Japan Japanese people should live. We should enjoy music as a common language of earthlings and construct a fruitful and spiritual life. See you in Takefu.

Takefu International Music Festival is celebrating it's 9th year of success. The venues have been held at not only the Takefu city Cultural Center but all across the city at various places such as neighboring Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, restaurants, local schools and other interesting locations. These performances have helped to develop warm friendships among the international artists and the citizens of Takefu City and the surrounding areas. We would like to invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy a fun-filled, exciting nine days of wonderful music and lively performances. We believe that it is important to be concerned about the world we live in and to try to protect and prolong our country's natural resources before they disappear. There are many ways in which people can go about realizing this dream. We have chosen the path of music, an international ice-breaker to help us along the way. Music helps us to relax and to dream; dream about the way we would like things to be. With these dreams in mind we think that it is possible to act on them and make them realities. Relaxation gives us the time needed to contemplate about our ideas and goals. By bringing international musicians together to share their dreams with us, we are certain that the combined energy that is produced will allow us to express our dreams in a much grander fashion than we would do in everyday life. That is why we would like to offer you various stages at which everyone can enjoy their realizing their dreams.
